Green Summer Campaign 2025 Supports Over 81,000 People

In just eight weeks, thousands of student volunteers, together with the For a Green Future Foundation, an initiative of Vingroup, have illuminated more than 33 kilometers of rural roads, improved environmental conditions, and enhanced the safety and quality of life for over 81,000 residents across 14 provinces.

The “Accompanying Green Summer 2025” campaign, jointly organized by the For a Green Future Foundation, 33 universities and institutes, and the Youth Union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Vietnam, officially concluded after eight weeks of implementation (from July to the end of August 2025). Projects deployed across 14 provinces and cities have contributed significantly to environmental improvement and community well-being.

A key highlight of this year’s campaign was the “Green Lighting” initiative, which saw the installation of more than 830 solar-powered lighting poles along 33.6 kilometers of roads. These installations now enable safer nighttime travel for residents in 17 communes, spanning mountainous areas, coastal regions, and the special administrative zone of Bạch Long Vĩ (Hải Phòng).

One such solar-powered light was installed by student volunteers from Vietnam National University Hanoi in Song Khủa Commune (Sơn La Province). These sustainable, “green energy” infrastructures play a vital role in ensuring safer mobility for local communities after dark.

In parallel, the campaign also implemented projects to drill wells for clean water access and construct standard sanitation facilities in remote areas, including Pom Khuông Kindergarten (Tam Chung Commune, Thanh Hóa Province) and Suối Cái Kindergarten (Quan Sơn Commune, Lạng Sơn Province).

Additionally, youth volunteers organized numerous training and awareness sessions on environmental protection, guiding local residents and students, from kindergarten to high school, on waste sorting and recycling practices. Nearly 400 waste-sorting bins were distributed to schools and residential areas, helping foster proper waste management habits and environmental responsibility.

Mr. Tạ Hồng Sơn, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Secretary of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, stated: “The Green Summer Campaign 2025 holds special significance as it marks the first collaboration between the Youth Union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the For a Green Future Foundation in implementing activities aligned with sustainable development goals. Beyond improving living conditions, the campaign also creates strong momentum for spreading green models within communities, contributing to a more sustainable Vietnam.”
